Two months ago I had what you needed and could have done that. Just sold the sbm bell last week.
Sorry

If you want it built Lenny at extreme automatics in cincy is close and has a good rep.

I used a Jw bell and a stock case. Built it myself. Th400's are fairly easy to garage build. Personally I like them a lot more than 727s. BOP cores are cheap and parts are readily available.

Just out of curiousity, does anyone have any of the dimensions for the Reid or ATI bells? Just curious as to what the height is flange to flange? Anyone have CAD for the trans bolt pattern?

Looked at the Ried stuff at PRI. Very nice indeed! and the small block/Gen3 bell has provisions for starter on ether side, I dont thing the ATI bell does. I am going with this Ried setup with a Gear Vendor OD on the back for my build.

If anyone has a small block or gen 3 hemi to TH400 bellhousing let me know. Looks like they may be on back order at JW.

How well does a TH400 with SFI case fit in an A-Body?

Allen, the ATI is 1/4" taller than most Reid mopar bells. The very first Reids were the same as ATI. Reid shortened theirs after pte ious JW customers complained about the e,tra 1/4".

BTE makes a Reid bell with a T400 pump adapter for those whos budget doesnt allow the Reid case.

I personally hate bolting bells through the pump bolts. The JW solution was the only way for years. Now the flanged cases are available and light years ahead.

Im going to find out after the first of the year, going to order a Reid case & bell. Initial thoughts are floor is going to need major mods farther back. 400 is longer and fatter towards tail shaft. New trans cross member will need to be fabed as well

For what its worth, Lenny at Extreme Automatics built me One of his Stage 2 200R4's for my Magnum based 408 that uses a Reid SFI housing. I'm only putting out about 510hp at the crank. His Stage 2 is said to hold 750hp. He has a Stage 3 that is said to hold over 1000hp.

I run a Precision of New Hampton 3600 stall lock-up converter with the 3 carbon fiber clutch pack. It makes the car feel like its a 5 speed automatic. I have a 3.91 gear set and 28 inch tall Nittos. The car tachs 2500 rpm at 80 mph, and I beat a Hellcat in a flag drop 1/4 mile drag race. This trans torque converter combo helped make that possible. I had him by 3 car lengths at the 1/8th and held him to a nose at the finish. He was charging hard at the end. I'm sure another driver would have had me, but not out of the hole on street tires.

I mocked one up in my Valiant. Ati bell, stock case. I have a 4 speed hump in the floor also. To get it in at the stock drive angle,I had to trim the torsion bar crossmember where it loops up to support the driveshaft tunnel. Just fit and no room for a shield. The Reid or Ati case should fit with some trimming and selective denting.

Hey, they come in some Drag Packs. I forget the euphemism, something like "Racing Automatic Transmission"

At the level I am shooting for I will have less money in a better transmission with an SFI case & bell that will need no shields. Better converter choices as well.
