I bought a 833 off a guy who clams it out of a 70 cuda. Im working on a 70 cuda and was wondering if it will be correct dated for it. Also wondering how strong it is. Do these numbers say anything?

If I remeber correctly, there's a section in the Tech Archive section on identifying 833 trannys.

Heres what I can decode for you

PP833 = New Process Division 4-speed
0B168912 = last 8 digits of vin
0 =1970 model year
B = Vehicle assembled at Hamtramck plant
168912 = last 6 digits of vin
3006 = trans assembly date = Monday, 20 Oct '69
0289 = number of trans assembled on that date

Sombody will know what body style cars were assembled at that plant.

Good Luck

It is from a 1970 Barracuda or Cuda.
