If you are a bracket racer, you probably won't see any changes at your local track. If they run a sportsman points meet, you can run Hot/Rod, 7.00 index on 1/8th mile on a .500 pro tree.
Thanks, if they do run a sportsmans points meet, do they adjust the index for the elevation of the track?

Wow, here's an article on the switch. http://www.ihra.com/article/3896.htmlI don't think IHRA has been that far west before. They have a National event scheduled for your track, so H/R will probably be run on 1/4 mile. You will have to check with them on the altitude adjustment. One nice thing about IHRA is that you don't need any grade points or pre-entry, you just show up and pay at the gate. Nice Duster, by the way.

Thanks for the help, and thanks for the compliment. It would be cool to do some heads up racing. Looks like the track will be having a racers meeting in March, so I guess will find out more then.

You don't need the chassis inspected until you run Super Comp/Rod times. No need for a Dr's permission slip to get your license until you hit TS or TD. With the money you save from just that, it's like you get the first five races entry free.

After running both over the past forty years, I can tell you without a doubt that IHRA is much more grass-roots-racer-freindly. It's not even close.

Hey dave, guess my info last week was proved correct, from the press release doesn't sound liker it'll be a big issue, guess we'l just get to join both if we keep racing at Boise, Grand Junction, or Vegas.
Yup you called that one correct. Hopefully this will turn out to be a good thing for us. If they run that Hot Rod index I think I will look at slowing the car down and give heads up racing a try. RMR web site says they will have a racers meeting with IHRA in March, are you going to go?

If I'm around the house I will, but just as likely to be away at work, but I do know several guys going for sure, so I'll get the scoop either way, by the way, got the diaper, it fit really well. Not a bad deal at all.
Good deal,I'll have to get him some measurements and get my diaper ordered.
