Just had my center carb rebuilt and during the installation I stripped the linkage bolt. I had noticed upon disassembly someone used washers as spacers and a "nyloc" nut to keep it together.

Well a little to much and I stripped the threads and now need a new bolt. Was hoping there was a hardware kit available but all I could find was the replacement kit listed above at $85 off of Ebay.

Anyone have the spare parts I need or know of just the "hardware" kit and where to get it?

Thanks in advance,

Guy

Give these guys a call.
ChicagoCarburetor

Also, I believe I purchased one from Holley a few years ago, came with the nyloc nut and the small Teflon bushing that goes on the screw. Hope this helps

You might want to call Promax carbs or Six Pack performance.

Big E, that's it. Do you have a source?

Mopar still makes a 6 Pack linkage kit under part# P4529061 which I found out today has 74 on national back order as of today per my local Chrysler Dealer.

I was trying to post a pic of the kit for all to see. From what it looks like I was missing some of the original parts (washers/spacer/retaining nut) so if I could figure those out I'd be complete.

Well I contacted Chicago Carb (THANKS SlickRS23) and got what I needed and figured I'd share the info.

The linkage assembly kit is part# B3737 which includes the bolt, nyloc nut, and 3 nylon washer's (2 one size, and a smaller one) at a cost of $10.95 for the kit.

If you want just the bolt it's part# K3301 at a cost of $9.95 and the nyloc nut is part# B4017 at a cost of $1.45. I did not get down to the detail level for the part numbers and cost associated to the 2 styles of nylon washers.

So with the parts in does anyone have a pointer to an a assembly drawing or know the order of how the 2 styles of washer's are mounted?

Thanks,

Guy

Thanks, I saw the same pic.

The two visible washers are the pair that come in the kit but there is a 3rd washer smaller that looks like a spacer and that one I haven't seen in any pic's.

If you look closely at Big_E's pic, the smaller white bushing goes between the two larger washers and rides on the inside of the slot acting as a bearing in a way.
Just don't over-tighten the nut. Every thing should move freely with a little play. Probably better to be a little too loose then a little to tight, but not sloppy loose.

Thanks for everyone's replies and I'm happy to see all the support we have on this forum.

In regards to the question of the use of a Bolt or a Pin I have a copied set of Chrysler's original 1970-71 Passenger Car Illustration section (Final Revision) dated December 1971 "Loose-Leaf Parts Catalog" part# 81-690-1002 which supersedes 81-690-0952 and in it shows the part #100 in the illustration on the Holley center carb model 2300 fr the Six Pack application as a bolt which is same as depicted in the numerous postings to this string.

A "pin" type bolt made have been superseded at some point later but all the factory documentation I have shows the correct NOS item as a half threaded bolt.

If I knew how to post a pic I'd share it.

Sorry but its original for a 69,5 and probably early 70. The parts book will not lie to you and shows 58, 87, 42, 87, 84 and 80. Number 80 is a "nut". Same as my carb. The color picture is of a original 23k mile car and you can see the "nut" there too on the left hand side. (Not my color pic. From the a12 site http://a12mopar.com/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1205141324/0 )

Well Big E and I having been going back and forth off line about these kits and the small single washer and where it gets installed.

The diagram he posted above the washer looks like it fits in the cam channel of the carb and slides over the bolt ahead of the second washer. My factory parts book shows it going on after the adjustable rod end are placed on the bolt and before the nut.

The washer will not go past the threaded portion of the bolt even applying a small amount of pressure so we're of the mindset that the washer acts as a "crush or stop" for the nut so you don't strip the threads on the bolt.

I've installed this kit and I'm back up running. During daylight hours I'll take it out and open the Six Pack to make sure everything workings properly and nothings binding/pinching.

O.K., something looks not right with your parts kit.
Here is a pic of an unopened parts kit and an extra screw I picked up back around the late 1970's.

You can see that the white bushing slides over the screw.

Here is a pic of the installation. Notice the white bushing even though it is the newer style linkage. I believe it is a bushing/bearing for a smooth operation.

A crush nut doesn't sound right with a nyloc nut??
Hope this helps, Jeff

Hey Jeff. Just what I wanted to see. Thanks. That's the way it looks like the parts book shows it. When I talked to Guy he could not get the small washer to fit over the shaft on the bolt. I tried to find that Holley kit too but no luck. Probably long gone by now. Eric
