What color Black should my 71 cuda dash be? What Im asking is should it be Gloss? Satin? Flat?

Can someone recommend a good brand of spray can paint and shade of black closest to factory.

Thanks!

When I did mine - on the cheap - fixed the 2 cracks by the speaker, it was recommended to me from some friends to use SEM Trim Black - not a semi gloss, more like a satin with just a tiny bit of sheen - I really liked how it turned out when the dash was done. Then when I was putting the restored gauge cluster back in, the vinyl on the right corner started to just crumble and flake apart...bit bullet and sent to Just Dashes...came out beautiful...my twocents good luck

Is that the correct color for the speaker grilles and other items as well?

If your using a rattle can then the trim black shown above looks pretty good.
I use U-Tec 500 40-50% gloss out of my gun and looks real good.

I forget now which paint I used for the dash frame, ashtray and glovebox door I used - but I think it was Rustoleum #7220 textured black, in very very light passes over a few days with drying in between. These aren't the best pics and the dash is boxed now awaiting install, but I am very happy how it turned out...rattle can wise up

Nope, had Instrument Specialties leave at last reading when they restored the gauges and panel face
