I bought a 6.1 engine from a stolen and wrecked 2010 Challenger SRT8 with just 10,000 miles on it some time ago. Engine run but started to knock after running a minute or so, so I took the pan off and found a spun rod bearing. I scored a new crank and 8 rods on ebay from a guy building a stroker from a crate 6.1 if I remember correctly. I also bought a crank/rod bearing kit. This was some 3 years ago but now I have found a 71 Sport Fury and she yells she needs it. And so it will be.
I will soon take the engine all apart for cleaning and inspection so I wanted to ask if there's something special to pay attention to. Any upgrades I should do?
Also since I want to use a A518 46RH tranny I already have I need advice on where to buy flexplate/converter and what starter I need.
There's more to ask since c-body conversions seems rare. Don't know what exhaust manifolds to use as an example.
Very thankful for your tips and advices folks!

Nothing really out of the ordinary, its just another engine. Torque to yield fasteners inside though. You can take oil pump apart and inspect, should be fine. Also make sure it already has the "good" valve springs, cannot remember the stripe color, maybe blue? The flexplate you can get from Mancini IIRC.

I had to double check and it's not a 2010, it's a 2008 if it matters regarding the valve springs.

I believe the 46RH torque converter will bolt to the hemi flexplate( but it has been a while since I checked that) just not sure it the snout will fit in the end of the crank

I don't have the converter. TCI and other manufacturers make lock up converters with higher flash stall. What stall should I aim for?
The Fury weighs about as the 2nd gen Chally. Have a 3.91 SG chunk I intend to use.
