I’ve got a 46RH in my 37 Dodge Pickup. When I bought the transmission it did not come with a dipstick or tube. I’ve had no luck finding a tube and stick locally let alone one that will fit the truck. I’m about ready to fire the engine in the truck for the first time and fill the transmission so it’s kind of important to know the right amount of fluid to put in.

Normally I would just fill the transmission with the recommended amount of fluid and mart the stick. In this case however I have a non-OE convertor and aftermarket cooler so the recommended amount of fluid might not be correct.

I was wondering if anyone happened to know ( or have a dip stick and tube out so they could measure for me) where the full mark on the stick is in relation to the top of the hole on the transmission case where the dip stick tube goes in.

I’ve been told it should be the same for the 518/46/47RH and 727, but I can’t verify that for sure.

Thanks in advance.

The FULL level is about 1/4" above the top of the tube hole in the case. Same for all large case Torqueflites.
