I am having an issue with the temp gauge on my 70 Dodge Super Bee. The temp gauge pegs when power is applied.

All other gauges function perfectly. I have replaced all wiring harnesses, the fuel and temp gauge are brand new and the temp sensor is new.

Any ideas? I'm all out of them.

I appreciate any and all input.

Jim

that would indicate a bad sending unit, pinched/ grounded wire, miswire, or faulty gauge.

Does the gauge return to cold with no power??

If so, disconnect the sending unit, put power to the gauge and see if it stays on cold, It should.

if it does not the S/U wire is grounding somewhere along the way

Yes, the gauge returns to cold w/no power. all wiring clear. I'll grab another sensor since it has been in the block for some time.

Thanks for the info.

Doing the above quick test will confirm or eliminate the sending unit as the cause of the problem.
