Don't know where to post this so I took a shot here.
What is the real mpg for a 2015 caravan or T & C?
Driving across country and back in august and wondering how much gas is gonna cost me in a rented minivan? Rated 25 hwy.... I want to know what to really expect, at say 75 mph

Got a 2014 Ram cargo minivan. I have 82k miles on it. 25 highway at 75+ is a bit low. Going to El Paso, a 7 hour drive, I usually get 27 mpg most of it at 80 mph. Mind you I have no interior to speak of in the back, but I probably have 3000lbs of tools/parts/fat assed driver in it.

I averaged 25.5 with a T&C rental.

You should have no trouble getting 25mpg. I've got 27-28mpg on trips with our 2011 T&C minivan doing 70-75.

Does an '11 have the 3.6 V6?

Rented one, ran from SE Ohio up to Maine and back, we used < $300 gas for 2650 miles, give or take.

Once noticed the mileage computer showing over 30mpg's, and it wasn't downhill either.

It seemed to hover over 25-26 almost all the time.

2011 was the first year for the pentastar 3.6 V6. I've found the 3.6L will do much better than the 3.8/4.0 V6 in the earlier models.

This is encouraging. I doubt I'll have a choice of vans but the other minivan that Avis has is a Kia Sedona.... Anyone experienced a long drive in one of those?

my brother travels a lot for his job. although not renting a minivan, he has, on many occasions, rented kia cars. he has said many times those cars surprised him in how they drove and the ride quality. maybe the minivans are similar ?

I made the mistake of filling up my work van (2014 Dodge mini cargo van, flex fuel equipped) with E85.

5 cents less per gallon than regular, 5 mpg less than regular.

But no noticeable loss in power or driveability.

My 2012 Dodge Caravan work van has consistently averaged 9 mpg since new with about 30% of the time on the freeway. It has aboout 20k on it now, and idles a significant amout of the time.

My father inlaw has a Kia minivan. It`s gas mileage is not too good(low 20`s)compared to the others. It is a few years old so maybe the newer ones get better mileage. I had a dodge caravan back in the 90`s and it got around 28mpg IIRC.

So the original post was from a year ago. We didn't end up going to Utah, instead we flew to California.
Last month we did drive to Utah in our 2016 town and country. Happy to report averaged 26 mpg. And that includes driving in the mountains of both southern and northern Utah.
4200 miles in 8 days...
