nay. it's made for direct contact between 2 surfaces as a lubricant and moisture sealant . it's basically a silicone grease.

Yea, on the rotor center blade that contacts the cap center button. it can help minimize radio/stereo static. not a dealbreaker but it can help by minimizing the minute make/break of continuity there as those 2 dissimilar surfaces contact each other in motion

Never tsk twocents That would make a heck of a dust and debris collector inside the distributor cap, huh work

Most people confuse what dielectric grease does,

It does NOT conduct electricity, it's an insulator.

Sounds like it a negative on that idea!

I never used anything inside the cap.

I use Castle dielectric on the ends for plugs. That wahy the boots dont stick.Use it on wire connections especially where they are in the elements.Used it since the 80s at work and at home.never any problems.Dont use it on the cap/rotor.Rocky

The modification most often done to improve high rpm distributor cap and rotor performance is to vent away with airflow the ions created by internal sparking. I guess here the question is whether and how to filter this ventilation of the cap's insides.

I am a believer in dielectric grease at high voltage static connections like spark plug cable connectors.

Yes, but i believe you need a tricorder in order to encapsulate said ions......
