I have a stock 1972 Plymouth Duster 340. I am replacing my heads for some re-manufactured cylinder heads from Aerohead Racing w/ stainless 2.02's for the valves. The heads Aerohead racing ARO-CY-SB340. The springs are single w/ a damper spring inside of that. Seat pressure is 125 lbs. I want to use the XE274H cam. What do I need to make this work? A buddy tells me these springs will wipe the cam as it is too harsh. Help!

Thanks,

actually 125 seems OK even light but I would call the cam company (comp cams?). I would also measure your open (compressed) height dimention since you have access to a scale. I would in addition check coil bind/VP clearance/wipe pattern/pushrod angle/rocker to retainer clearances/retainer to seal, all the std stuff

Seat pressure doesn't wear out the cam, coil bind and to much opened pressure will work shruggy I've used 140 to 175 lbs on the seats on many flat tappet motors with both hydraulic and solid lifters in them, BB, Hemi and LA SB up On your deal it pays to make sure, the learning experiences are worth your time thumbs Call Comp in the morning and see what the minumums and maximums spring pressure are on what they recommend for both closed and open scope
Please let us know what you find out work
