Doable, but you better be crafty with the welder, nothing is a drop-in. Get ready to fab your own motor and trans mounts and convert to an aftermarket shifter. Not sure how much power the stock rear end in those things will take, but your driveshaft will need to be custom either way. Sounds like a fun project.

I have always wanted to do a 360 swap into a Conquest. I would like to follow along with your build if you do it!

I helped a guy (I did most of the work because I could weld while he scrounged up all the parts) get started on one. We got the oil pan worked out and had the motor in the car. Then he decided to take it to his place (apartment) so he could mess with it any time he wanted and it ended up getting towed and disappeared. I've got pictures somewhere if you're interested.

Definitely interested in any pics. and would like to hear about the oil pan, as the preliminary measurements look to be a problem with the pan, overall measurements look like they will work with the engine compartment

I can't seem to find the pics right now...
High Performance Mopar did a series on swapping a 340 into a Conquest. Their approach was to cut out the cross member and build a new one that worked around their oil pan. Then they built some funky headers to fit around it all.
We decided to rework the pan around the stock crossmember. We cut the pan and spun it around so the sump was on the opposite end. After that, the motor dropped right in between the inner fenders with the stock manifolds on. The plan was to try some truck headers from Summit that looked like they would fit but we never got that far. I also swung the alternator up and modded the brackets to work and made up some brackets to mount the stock Conquest power steering pump to the motor on the driver's side opposite the alternator. One good bash on the passenger side of the floor board and the auto tranny would have fit (I don't remember if it was a 727 or 904).

Check out Starquestclub.com , in the engine modifications under the forums. There are lots of guys there swapping just about everything into Conquest/Starions.
I looked at it for a while as I've had a few Conquest and a spare 340 laying around, but my stock 89 just runs too well as is. Though I do have an 88 sitting here I've been using for parts

I remember that HPM article... I probably have that issue somewhere. IIRC the headers were multi-piece.

Found the pics! Here's the oil pan sliced, diced, spun, and tacked in place.

good for you, this is what I wanted to do with our 88 Conquest about 15 years ago. I look forward to watching your progress.
