I'm searching for a replacement lower windshield trim piece (the trim under the wiper blades), and was told there is an early and late style/configuration. Does anyone have pictures or can describe the differences between the two styles?

Thanks!

Yes - the 70 style has an extra screw hole.

You'll need to wait till Friday if you need pictures

The earlier style is on the bottom in this pic. Note the extra hole and the difference between the tabs on the rest for the wiper blade. There are some other differences with the other screw holes (not visible in this pic).

Thanks for the pictures everyone.

Floyd - The damaged moulding that was on my car (SPD 10/21/69) has the extra hole like your bottom pic, but the tabs the blades rest on have a different contour and look similar to your upper pic. Any idea why the tabs look different? What is the application of the moulding pictured at the bottom?

Also - What type of screws are used to mount it to the cowl? I'm thinking mine are incorrect.

there are at least 3 different e-body lower windshield trim pieces, extra hole, vertical VS. horizontal slot & "rounded" wiper rest scope

Dan

Thanks for the comparison pictures…that’s a huge help! I've seen the horizontal slot type, but have not observed the vertical type on a car. Interesting…
