I don't think I've ever heard anything bad about them...everything they build seems to be pretty badazz fast.

This is our fifth year running Goodwin engines. For the first 2 years we ran a 5" Cast 99 style Hemi. We sold that engine to a drag racer around the Chicago area.
This is now our third year running one of Goodwins Billet 650 5" hemi's.
They are great people to work with and I have no complaints. Todd is a true mopar guy at heart! As long as you keep up with the maintenance and treat the engines right the engine will treat you right.
After 5 years I would certainly highly recommend them to anyone. If you have any questions just give them a call or I would be happy to chat about my experiences with them.

There is one on RJ. 518 CI with some real ass horsepower. It does say a cam change would be needed. One of the guys I raced with years ago is thinking about it. Thanks for the replies. Horse power on a dyno is only a number. Personally, the MPH and weight never lie..... Are you buying It for drag racing or truck pulling?

It will be for drag racing. Tube chassis car. 2400#'s. My car weighs 2865 race weight with me. My motor made "1562" on the dyno. So far I have been 143.5 to the 1/8 and 178-179 in 1/4 I launch the car at 4,000 rpm with all the timing in, meaning I don't have a launch retard in the motor. So far this year I have changed a set of intake springs and it ate a pushrod. last race meet out I had water leaking through the intake port. Use whatever kind of calculator you want to figure out the power, but mine doesn't equal 1562. I do have some tuning left in the car.

I think with speeds that high the aero starts to become a big player.
Also, if it was a manual trans with a fancy clutch and more gears to keep the motor in the real sweet spot the speed might be higher.

Aero doesn't matter much in the 1/8 mile at 150 mph or less and good converters have less than 4% slip.

Wallace numbers are for zero altitude...how many people actually race at zero altitude.
As soon as someone tries to use Wallace to discredit dyno numbers...They end up discrediting themselves.

They have calculators where you input weather data as well. If you use the right calculator, insert the right info, I have found the Wallace numbers to be dead on with dyno and track numbers

My brother has become quite adept at using all the head flow/Dyno Hp/ track prediction software, and accurately predicting what swapping engines from one car to another, or adding power to a certain car, or racing in two altitude extremes will give for results, and it requires alot more adjustments and tweaks than just two numbers. Either people can believe that every engine dyno operator in the world is incompetent/dishonest, or maybe just maybe they can decide that the Wallace ET/MPH/HP calculator kicks out deflated numbers.

I pay little attention to dyno numbers because they are easily inflated with correction factors. MPH and car weight on the other hand, does not lie. I also don't like to comment on numbers of something that someone else put together..........but in the above scenario, that number seems...........ummmmm, shall we say optimistic and the performance of the car confirms that. Yes, gear converter and that other stuff matter. But he is short about 10 mph in the 1/4 mile of what it should run. That's a LOT.
I would never say anyone is dishonest, just do things differently. I know we had our own 632 on 3 different dynos and got 3 drastically different numbers, like 150hp different. When Chad asked, I told him it didn't mean crap, because the motor burned the same amount of fuel on every dyno, so it was making the same power, regardless of what a piece of paper says. But I see numbers thrown around all the time that I think are just ridiculous and guys are all "ooh aah" over dyno numbers. HOW DOES THE CAR RUN? That's all that matters

That's all that matters I've seen 100 HP difference between two different brand dynos with the same motor with no changes to that motor, put that motor back on the "happy dyno" and had it calibrated and lost that extra hundred HP with it calibrated My message is the operator can make that dyno put out a less than honest HP readings several different ways

Two guys have spouted "MPH and car weight do not lie" so far on this thread.
Wow. I've had them lie to me plenty of times.
I'm not looking for a an argument, apparently the science is settled. The Wallace ET/MPH/HP Calculator is the only correct way to determine the true potential of any combination. Amazing. There is no hope...
