A buddy just bought a new race car and we've been going over it to update a few things and I noticed the rear shocks were as far from equal as ive ever seen, The right lower mount brackets are higher also. any thoughts on why this would be? The car sat level also.

The lower mount for the left shock is hanging loose. The shock is just hanging there. Look at the shock shafts. Sat level? Somebody run it like that? Or you take it apart before the picture was snapped?

Just got it and jacked it up, I just can't see any reason for one spring ran up like that.

Some people won't do it, but I will run spring heights a little different to move weight and avoid having to bind the suspension so much with preload, i.e. the LF and RR wound up some. Usually no more than a half inch or so. That is a mess. It looks like the right spring may be smaller wire. Have to measure diameters or take the springs off to check rates. What do the front springs (coilovers?) look like? I sure would like to see what the weights look like. I would find out what's going on there before trying to run it. Get it set up with some sort of baseline and see where the weight is. Has the car been wrecked?

do you have scales Mike? Might be noteworthy to get numbers now. Any numbers on the springs?

haha. We had the car shipped and it showed up like that. Just wondering if he had it cranked up there for launch reasons? My buddy loosened the shock brackets to pull the rear tires but the shocks were like that. I didn't even think about scaling it, thanks. Here is what we're working on, a little 65 Valiant with a stock stroke iron headed Small block. The SoCal Boys are gonna think I've been converted. This will be at the Mega Mopar race at Famoso in Sept.

Funny you mentioned that Dom, it had a Demon on it and that's the first thing we changed, We put the 850 you went through for Kev's purple car on it and put the new Dominator you prepped on the purple car, Both cars fired right up and idle'd and crisp response. We will find out how both run at the end of august at ANRA famoso along with my dart. You need to come hang out, Always something going on in the Barn!
