What years can I get the front axel out of to change my 1972 dana 44 front drums to disc's.

Ideally I do believe its 81-84, they had hubs and weren't the center axle disconnect. BUT because of the divorced transfer case you will have a terrible driveshaft angle with a newer one. So you can use shims OR convert your old axle. Here is a link for doing it with chevy parts, but you can use the outers from dodge from 81-93 instead

Could also use just everything from your stub shafts out on your housing and inner shafts. That would also mean you could pilfer the stuff off a later 80's one with center disconnect.Lots of 73-79 ford half ton guys do the same to get 3/4 ton ends, because 3/4 tons also had 44 fronts.A rear swap. and you have a 3/4 ton truck. The ford guys like it because they get to keep a comfy coil spring front end that way.
