when a deep trans pan is installed on a t/f 727 must a extension be put on the filter pickup

It seems to me that if you're using the same dip stick and there's no where else for fluid to build up it should be fine. Only extreme slosh under acceleration might be a potential problem. And I wouldn't worry about that if fluid is at the 'full' line.

Pump gas, n/a, through the mufflers on street tires with 3.54's. 3,600 lbs.
10.01 @ 133mph with a 250 shot of nitrous an a splash of race gas. 1.36 60 ft. 3,700 lbs.

That's the reasoning behind extending the filter to the bottom of the pan; not only hard acceleration but extreme attitudes (4-wheeling, etc.) might uncover the filter with deep pans.

the trans does not move . ipulled the trans and it looks like no circulation of oil. the trans just got rebuilt i installed a deep pan but did not put the extention on the filter i noticed when i took out the trans.

If the fluid level in near FULL on the dipstick, the absence of a filter extension won't make it fail to move.

Most likely the pump failed on first startup.
