I'm struggling to get my 3/8 deep socket on the lower row of nuts on my heads, any suggestions ?

I'm going to assume your using 12 point ARP nuts on thier head studs, correct? I was thinking they are either 1/2 inch or 7 /16 socket size , not 3/8 shruggyI don't know of any american tool company that makes 3/8 sockets in half inch drive, usually 7/16 and above thumbs work

Sorry Cab, i meant i'm using a 3/8 drive socket, no they are 6 point and yes they are 7/16".
Fastmop
The socket i'm using is fairly slim and i thought it might compromise the strength if i sanded much off it.
I see three options, sand a bit of the head back for access, sand a socket right down and hope it doesn't break, or change that row of studs on both heads for bolts with smaller heads, or nuts with smaller heads, maybe 12 point if they are smaller.

I've just been loking on ARP's site and the 12 pt nuts are 9/16 socket, so that will probably solve the problem. I'm assuming they are 7/16-20 nuts ?

You can get nuts with 1/2" 12point https://www.summitracing.com/parts/arp-300-8333

or 9/16" https://www.summitracing.com/parts/arp-300-8394

if it will fit the 9/16 has a little more surface area on the washer
