My 440 is misfiring at idle. Not at the same time. Would a loss ground wire on the msd box make it misfire.Just noticed it being loss. Thanks for info

I just went through this.
I found a burnt spark plug wire boot.
Might not be your problem, but worth checking.

Open the hood at night and look for sparks.. How old are the spark plugs and wires??

That means nothing.

pull the plugs & see if any are fouled. If you have any extra plug wires you might sub em in for a quick test. did this start all of a sudden? what did you mean "not at the same time" You might pull the carb top & clean it out and take out the idle mixture screws and blast the ports with a 3 second shot of brake kleen with the thin red straw to get in there. Wrong firing order.. Recheck your wires ( Make sure they are on the correct plugs) and then recheck them again......
