I've found a couple '67 Chargers with the code 584 for wheel covers. Most of the '67 Chargers I've seen don't have that code. Anyone know what do those wheel covers look like?

I only know of two types of wheel covers in 67. The Deluxe cover that looks like the 66 but without the spinner and a black center. The other is the "MAG" type cover used on other models as well. I don't know the codes for these but I'm sure others will and post pictures....

wow, information is lacking on '67 MOPARs across the board frown

it looks like body colored steel wheels with "dog dish" hub caps were STANDARD on the '67 Charger - is this true?

per the '67 Dodge Charger Data Book & HOLLANDER, it appears there are 3 OPTIONAL wheel covers
"MAG" wheel covers (sales code "58?" & part number 2880618)
wheel covers (sales code "58?" & part number 2823024) - my 440 auto Charger had these
"deluxe deep dish" wheel covers (sales code "58?" & part number 2880621)

I think the wording is part of the confusion, but if you have a broadcast sheet with the 581, 584, what is the other? - you can match the last 2 digits of the part number with the wheel cover code on the lower half of the sheet.

work where is a common place to find a '66-'67 Charger b'cast sheet? Don't think I've seen one.

Thanks Dan,

I didn't think that body colored wheels with dog dish hubcaps were standard on the '67 Charger, but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the note on matching up the wheel part number with the 58 code. I took that and looked at 24 different broadcast sheets I have on file for '67 Chargers and here's what I came up with. I threw in the front brake code and the engine VIN as well.

58.........Wheel........Wh.Cvrs.....Frt.Brk.....Engine
7..........16B..........18..........22..........F
7..........16B..........18.........."2..........F
7..........16B..........18..........25..........H
7..........16B..........18..........29..........J
7..........16B..........18..........29..........J
4..........16B..........21..........22..........F
4..........16B..........21..........22..........F
?..........16B..........21..........22..........G
4..........16B..........21..........22..........G
4..........16B..........21..........22..........G
4..........16B..........21..........22..........H
4..........16B..........21..........22..........H
4..........16B..........21..........22..........H
4..........16B..........21..........25..........L
4..........16B..........21..........25..........L
1..........16B..........24..........22..........F
1..........16B..........24..........22..........G
1..........16B..........24..........22..........H
1..........16B..........24..........22..........H
1..........16B..........24..........22..........H
0..........30_..........98..........29..........L
0..........30_..........98..........25..........L
_..........16K..........07.........."22..........G
_..........16K..........07..........29..........L

So from this we can see the association:

Sales Code..........Wheel Cover
587.................18 (mag type)
584.................21 (deep dish)
581.................24 (Coronet style)

What gets me now is that there are two more codes.

Sales code 580 I believe is the road wheels (Magnum 500). And then we have a final code where the 58 is blank and the wheels are 16K instead of 16B with 07 as the wheel covers...

yes, the "CHROME Road Wheels" were 580

the 16B would be 14x5.5" wheels painted "B" - "black", appropriate for a full wheel cover car

the 16K would be 14x5.5" wheels painted "K" - "medium turquoise metallic" & 07 is the last 2 digits of "dog dish" part number 2768007
odd that both "dog dish" broadcast sheets you have are from "KK1" Chargers.

..... but I have that "dog dish" as a 9" (1968 & up) VS. the 10" versions found 1967 & earlier work
the Parts Catalog lists a different "dog dish" for Coronets shruggy

did the 1967 HD 14x5.5" wheel (STANDARD on Charger) have the smaller 9" hub cap center register?

this would've been the STANDARD wheel on Coronet R/T & GTX

& I'll ASSUME

22 = 10" drum brakes
25 = 11" drum brakes
29 = disc brakes

I checked the 16K codes again and found sure enough, one was for a KK1 car, the other I misread and was 16R on an RR1 car. Thanks for that tip, I never knew that!

On the 580 code, I have a picture of a window sticker showing 581 being "Steel Plated Chrome Wheels" for a '67 Charger. So that must have been someone's attempt as it's wrong.

We're also left with sales code 583. I don't show any build sheets for it but I found a mention of that as the "Sport Bolt-On Design", which sounds a lot like the mag type (587).

I'm not sure which small hub cap would have been on the body painted wheels. Good question though.

1967 Coronet show the 581 "DELUXE" & 587 "MAG" as available wheel covers (I don't think Dodge used the 583 sales code for 1967)

1967 Plymouth a-bodies used the "BOLT-ON" design & Plymouth b-bodies used the "SPORT" style for sales code 583.

they are basically the same wheel cover, with the a-bodies exposing the actual 4" bolt circle lug nuts shock

Great info... I would not have guessed that the dog dish and Coronet style caps were available. I have a brochure for the 67 Chargers and it only lists the "Deluxe wheel covers" "Mag-type wheel covers" "Chromed steel road wheels" as options. My broadcast sheet also lists the 584 16B 21 codes on it. Neat to know what it all means...

Great information Dan! I didn't know any of that Plymouth information.

So in summary we have for 1967 Sales Codes:

580 Road Wheels (n/a with Hemi)

581 Wheel covers
Plymouth = Deluxe p/n 2823010
Dodge = Coronet Style p/n 2823024

583 Wheel Covers
Plymouth A-Body = Sport p/n 2823028
Plymouth B-Body = Bolt-On Design p/n 2823014

584 Wheel covers
Dodge = Deep Dish p/n 2880621 ('66 Charger style w/o spinner)

587 Wheel Covers
Dodge = Mag Type p/n 2880618 (w/fake lugnuts)

Good catch, thanks!

Switching over to 1966, I see "05" a lot on Charger wheel covers. Any chance you have the full part number for that one? It should be the standard three spoke spinner cap.

shouldn't it be ALL of them, as they were STANDARD with no others OPTIONAL?

I had thought the mag type (2880618) was optional for 1966.

The Bloomington Ghost Charger has those covers and is a very low mile '66. I have not seen the build card though.
