V88 is on my fender tag for a 72 340 Demon. Its transverse stripe delete - so which stripes are not on the car? Hood/tail/side?

V88 no side stripe. Does the car have V21 for hood?? Or the other V code for tail stripe?

Yes brain fart V88 no rear stripe as others stated, V68 would be no side stripe. Also J54 would include the hood paint so no V21 would be on that tag if I remember right this time.

The side stripes are V6*. V88 is the delete code for the lower deck lid stripe.

The car does have the V21 option and factory scoop on the J54 hood. Also has M31 belt molding option, I'm guessing that's what belongs on the side of the car. It was painted once in 1977 (in Staten Island NY) and I have the receipts for it, but no belt.

Belt moldings are the chrome ones just below the window, not on the side of the car.

It doesn't have this stripe.

Thanks all. After looking at the tag again, it does show V5X, which is the black body side stripes. Should be a good looking Demon when done. That's an odd option to choose IMO, but hey, it was the 70's, right?

v5x is the midline bumper strips. It's not a stripe.

So strips, and the car has no stripes save for the hood treatment.
