..what badging / symbols would be found on a '69 "stripe delete" Swinger?

Metal DART badge with vinyl SWINGER under it on the fenders near the doors.

I have seen this photo before and I have only ever seen the metal DART emblem on 340 cars. Of course these were restored cars. So was this vinyl Swinger correct and if so how come so many people who restore cars never use the vinyl Swinger? I'm not doubting the correctness just never see it. I owned a stripe delete car and have pictures of the car before resto and it did not have the vinyl Swinger decal.

There is a stock, show room new 340 swinger a friend of mines dad bought new. No swinger emblem at all on his stripe delete. Just dart.

Well there you go, no rhyme or reason with Chrysler. Looks like you better have original pics to go back to original.

I think the dart is long gone, but Tom has a great 69 340 cuda. The dad bought that dart new. I found the pic by accident on the internet a while back. nearly identical to my 340 swinger, but mine has the stripe.

I noticed the stripe delete and fender emblem and had always wondered what they did if you got a stripe delete car. I guess now we know....whatever they wanted. LOL.

I noticed that both these cars are headrest cars with the later style. To my knowledge, all swingers were made at hamtramck, but maybe it was plant related.

All cars after 1-1-69 HAD to have headrest, those built before that date would have what was ordered or assembled at the factory.

Rhino, Did any 69's swingers have the bucket seat style headrest...like the went to in 1970?

I can never say no, but I have seen a factory 340 Swinger WITH bucket seats! It was a very late car, July 1969 but have never seen another one like it. As far as bucket seat headrests on a bench seat in a 69 Swinger, I have never seen one. I have had a 4-door 69 Dart with the chrome band style headrests

I was curious so looked in the Chrysler dealer data book.

FWIW, it says with stripe delete, you get "Dart" on fender. However it also says "Dart Swinger remains".

If you look at the regular DART SWINGER verbiage it sounds more correct. There is also DODGE on the right side of the hood and center of the decklid on both Swingers. On the SWINGER 340 drawings they have it wrong too. They show GTS on the hood, painted grille, and DODGE GTS rear finish panel...
