Putting our new motor together and have to buy a new cam. Here a rundown

Indy 4500 intake
1250 dominator on e85
Not sure on installed height of springs as of yet.

Car weighs 2950 race ready with driver, 14x32 tire, 5500 convertor, 727 Trans. Super pro car. 4 link, tube chassis.

Compression? And are you wanting a low maintenance bracket cam or something aggressive?

Compression is 13-1. It's a bracket car bUT we're looking for every ounce of power we can get

But those springs do not have the seat pressure to suit such a cam, put a suitable PAC spring on there set .050 from coil bind at max lift

You will also need some really good pushrods too. 3/8" x 0.145" wall don't cost much more than the 0.120" wall.
If a larger diameter will fit, that would be even better.

I old call someone who actually GRINDS cams and ask them. Phone calls are cheap today. I'd call several and get a feel for the one you get along with best.

That's basically where I'd be as well.
Maybe a little more intake lobe lift if you're changing springs.

The HS 1.60 shaft mounted rocker arms and the K950 springs will create a box that you have to work inside of. Basically you'll be limited to roughly .750 net lift with those springs or .470 lobe lift. Those spring might also limit the type of lobe that you can run but that is a little beyond me.

The .750 lift limit will constrain the amount of power that you can make so that is the trade off. If those are the parts that you're going with then pick a cam that fits the parts that you have and live with the results. If you want to make more power than that then you have to step up to more spring and maybe different rocker arms.

Bracket car with a lot of stroke, wider lobe seperation will raise RPM where peak torque occurs and be less violent at the hit. Thats ASSuming that since its just a bracket car with big tires that the chassis isnt scienced out

Additionally wider seperation lowers peak cylinder pressure which reduces chances of detonation

That is a big boy cam. Comp recommends a lot more spring than what you have so you'll have to think about that.

Andy, what springs would you recommend. I had one engine builder say he would use pac 1245 springs. My engine builder checked my springs and seems to think they will work.

Ask about PAC 1226 springs. I suspect they might be a great fit for your cam.They are 275 @ 2.00, so with your cam they can be set at about 300 on the seat and be at about 1.950 installed height. They are a 1.625 double spring. This is the last place you want to try and save $$, it can cause you a lot of lost power and broken parts.

PAC-1226 is a 1.55" diameter spring, but is 275 seat as mentioned.
I'm running basically the same spring, the PAC-1326 which is a PAC-1226 that has been prepped for "enhanced durability", but my cam is only mid 270's duration and 0.726" lift.

That cam you picked is very close to a couple I have run, both of which performed very well. Looking forward to results posts.
