http://www.dragzine.com/news/nhra-and-justin-big-chief-shearer-set-for-major-announcement/NHRA And Justin “Big Chief” Shearer Set For Major Announcement IMG_5230 Justin “Big Chief” Shearer, the star of the Discovery Channel’s still-controversial but immensely popular Street Outlaws reality program has paid a visit to Raceway Park in Englishtown for the NHRA Summernationals this weekend to take in the action, and his presence there isn’t by coincidence. In a sign of solidarity between diametrically opposed forces in the drag racing world, Shearer and NHRA officials are expected to make a landmark announcement this weekend that should have everyone, NHRA and Street Outlaws fans alike, talking. And, if what we’ve been hearing over the past few months is indeed true, it won’t be the last time we see Shearer at an NHRA national event this year.

Any guesses? Is Chief going NHRA pro mod racing? New NHRA grudge class, 8th mile with the clocks off?

NHRA had already backed off all that nonsense once they started catching heat. Doc and Monza made exhibition passes at the NMCA race in Atlanta. That is an NHRA OWNED track for those not familiar.
Doc already had a license and Monza's had been applied for but not granted yet. Monza's new chassis was inspected and his license granted on the spot in Atlanta

Apparently they noticed the numbers at the track and on-line at Lights Out and saw dollar signs. Especially with the short fields in the Pro classes nearly every week.
They eliminated the free audiocast and now make you purchase All Access even if you just want to listen to the race. Made me mad.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Gotta start somewhere mending some fences that NHRA mowed down. May lead to better things in the future.

It's all about money, pay the man enough and people will sell their soul. PSA for celebrities is usually to get out of jail time.

[/quote]Is that a urine sample she's holding? nope "Before spending the early afternoon with Leah Pritchett mixing nitro methane for her FireAde-sponsored, Don Schumacher Racing-owned Top Fuel dragster, “Big Chief” bounced around the Pro Stock pits, getting a good look at the latest-and-greatest factory hot rods."
