While running, move the shifter into FIRST gear THEN move it into reverse. The action of selecting First stops the rotation of the reverse gear. If this does not slow it down to get it into reverse, clutch... If your have to be really quick, after doing this, to get into reverse or it starts grinding again, clutch...

Sounds like the clutch isnt adjusted right. My 65 and can shift to reverse without being in any gear.My trans is OE to the car.I adjust my clutch so it goes into reverse with no grinding.Never measued anythng and been doing it since 69 when I got the car.Oh yeah my current CF clutch is at least 15 years old and well used.Rocky
