I have a 1971 GTX that came from the factory with power drum brakes. I bought a wilwood kit and bought new proportioning valve setup for power disc brakes and a recon master cyl from Advance auto. Bench bleed the master and put everything together and I can only get fluid out of the right front caliper. Then noticed that the small valve that bolts onto the proportioning valve was leaking from the bottom where the little rubber thing covers a pin. I found a used one in my junk box cleaned it and put it on and the same thing no fluid any where except the right front. I then went to the rear of the car and un hooked the brake line before it goes into the hose and no fluid there. Can anyone give me some ideas as to what to do next? Thanks Guys

Depending on the style/mfg of proportioning valve the "bleeding pin" will either need to be held in or held open to bleed it and the system, the majority of PV bleed pins need to be held open

Hello and thanks for the post. I called Inline tube the people I bought the valve set up from and they said no need to touch the pin. Now here is another thing that is going on when I bleed the master cyl. on the car the pedal goes the whole way to the floor. When I hook the lines up and push on the pedal it only goes down a little bit and that is it. And still only getting fluid out of the right front. Anyone have any ideas. Should I take the master cyl off and make the push rod longer? Thanks

When you bleed the MC you want to put a block of wood under the pedal so the pedal stops where it would normally stop as the piston seals wear a length of bore & you ideally want to keep it there for seal longevity plus it makes it easy to coordinate the pedal movement with the guy opening/closing the bleeders once the MC is bled & you are working the corners. there is still a blockage somewhere

When I called Inline tube they said they would send me a new valve the little one that bolts to the big one. I hope that is what the problem is but I am thinking it may not be as I put on a used one that I cleaned out with brake clean and air and it still does the same thing, no fluid anywhere except the right front; any other ideas. Thanks

Avoid any proportioning valves from IN LINE TUBE, nothing but problems, if you need a PV valve get it from FINELINES, it may even have the same repro mfg's part number but FINELINES actually takes them apart corrects the valving/passage problems and test each unit before sales, unlike the other vendors

Original lines not plugged up sprayed them with brake clean and blew air through them at 150 psi before I started the whole process. Thanks for all the help and suggestions. It turned out to be the little valve they sent me a new one bolted it on and bleed the brakes and good to go. Next time I will buy fine lines parts. Thanks again for all the help
