Hi Guys,
When you're looking at a Lynch Road fender tag (1970), what do the two rows of numbers at the very top of the tag refer to?
I thought I read a long time ago that one of the numbers referred to the "gate" assignment for the body at the plant but I'm not really sure.
Any help?

The first two digits of the top row are the GATE. The next three are the BASE numbers. The next six are the SEQUENCE numbers. These numbers are part of producing the body in white or the bare shell of the car.

The next three groups are the ENGINE, AXLE, and TRANMISSION assembly numbers.

That would be the layout for 71 & 72.
