This is what I ordered from RPM; engine rpm, driveshaft rpm, accelerometer, trans brake release, throttle stop position sensor, fuel pressure (mechanical fuel injection, 0/100psi) and EGT for one cylinder. Comments on anything I may need beyond this? I went with EGT over O2 sensors, but have time to change or upgrade as they are a week and a half behind. Input?

Oil pressure helped me catch a bypass that was screwing up (high volume pump) and putting out 130 pounds. That could have gotten ugly real fast. Water temperature is real nice especially with alcohol to help tuning. Powerglides tend to run hot on the brake so I added trans temp too. And just last week alternator voltage caught an issue.

The answer to your question is you are going to want them all. Data is addictive. You want oil pressure. You might as well have transmission pressure. (It will come in handy some day.) You want vacuum. They make tire temp and track temp. The more data you have the better you can understand the run and the health of the engine. I had 21 sensors and always wanted more.

Add in oil pressure... most of the pressure sensors are either low or high pressure but your fuel and oil will most likely be the same ones... I run all 8 egts mainly to balance intakes.. dont know if you said A/F ratio

I'm now starting to buy sensors that I dont have here for my Holley Dominator injection system my first thing is a crank sensor.. then I have to check what I have.. its got O2 on it now... I have fuel and oil pressure sendors.. I will need to make or buy a drive shaft set up it has voltage all ready... plus I need to see how many data points it will take... I dont think I will do egts on this system

Oil pressure and pan vacuum would be a must. Pan vacuum will tell you a lot about the engines health or any issues. Oil pressure kinda goes without saying as you may catch something. FWIW we have the std channels that come with a Racepak voltage, 12volt event, RPM, Driveshaft RPM, both accelerometers then ad coolant temp, pan vac, oil pressure, oil temp trans pressure, trans temp, fuel pump pressure, fuel pressure, 8 O2's, rear shock sensors. As stated already it can become addicting but also takes a lot of guess work out. These channels and a good video camera will get you a LONG way quickly.

Since I changed to a new instrument cluster I have a couple of extra gauges.. on the Rampage.. I have trans temp and with a flip of a switch I have engine oil temp.. with the Holley injection it had a data logger in it..I still dont know how many channels it will support... but I'm adding till it wont take anymore.. this one isnt getting the EGTs like on the race car... I think I can T in some of my other gauge senders to data log those also instead of 2 senders..I'll have to test that

Race-Pak makes an 8 magnet collar for the driveshaft speed that is very accurate (a must-use for traction control units), 8 EGT's are a must, you might want to go 0 - 200 psi for fuel pressure on injection, hook it up at the distribution block.

Is there a way to convert a GM ride hight sensor to a shock sensor? Or can this be done with the FAST system I use? Can you run 4 of these?

Can you run 4 of these? when at work we used lenier or string tranducers to measure shock movement.. most all of the data recorders read from 0-5 volts.. I dont know what GM used for a voltage span... thats why I dont know if I can T off of some of my senders.. I think they are all 12v

Thanks for the input everybody. there is a lot to digest hear. I would like opinions on the priority of adding sensors, as budget will force me to do more in stages. I am thinking of adding the O2 sensors for both collectors right away, but the rest will have to come as budget permits. Also, anyone having questions concerning data loggers feel free to ask. I would like to start a post for more info and questions others may have. Link below Greg https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/ubbt...tml#Post2081536
