I haven't heard of them... not to say they don't exist. Flexplates aren't too expensive though, used or new. A used one would probably cost less than adaptors.

I'd just get the matching flex plate if it were mine.

I just went through my self. I installed the engine then transmission without checking first. My flex plate holes where 5/16,the convertor was 7/16. I ended up pulling the transmission all over again. It was apain but now I'm glad I did, just a peace of mind. I've never heard of convertor for such thing either.

B&M flexplates have both sizes.

Drill out the flexplate holes. No problems with the ones we have done. Done it to quite a few. Or get another flexplate. Almost all after market performance converters have the larger bolt holes in the converter lugs.

I think the original poster has the big holes in the plate, and the small holes in the converter.

That said, options are

replace flexplate
replace converter
or drill converter, and tap to larger size.

In all honesty, I had a van I put together with this combo, and just put it together as is(small bolts through the larger holes in the flexplate)

It never gave me any trouble. I'm not saying I would run it like that now(I would correct the problem), but I do think it is not as big of a concern as it would seem.

A 5/16" flexplate is around $10 from autozone, at least they fit 318s/440s and such..

this is the M.P. flexplate adapter for a 6.1. Cannot buy another one wtih different size. Found an ebayer that sells the flexpate with adapter washers, but I cannot return the M.P. part I already bought.

If I only knew who made the washers????

You can enlarge the holes in the flex plate and gun drill a bolt and cut your own washers.
