I'm in the middle of filling out a converter spec sheet and I'm not really positive what this turd will make. I'm sure others have built similar combos so I'm hoping for some input.

499 low deck, 13:1 on e85, 1.7 Jesels, 268/275, .785/.746 on a 110 solid roller, installed at 106. Port matched Indy single plane with 1150 dominator, 2-2 1/8" TTI step headers, and an electric water pump.

The heads flow...
.300 238/155
.350 265/175
.400 292/193
.500 324/227
.600 338/253
.700 345/269
.800 357/280

This will all be going in a 3850# 70 Charger with a 2.74 first gear. The kicker is the 3.55 gears with a 28" tire. I'm not against going to 3.91s if it doesn't run the number. I'm sure this thing would love a 5000+ converter and 4.10s, but I like to drive it. I have a good trans cooler so I'm thinking I'll shoot for a 4600-4700 flash. Any ideas what kind of HP/TQ this combo would make and at what RPM?

I am. The spec sheet also asks for estimated peak hp/tq and at what RPM. Ideally one would slap it on an engine dyno, but that's not in the cards for me.

I had a bigger low deck stroker motor, 518 C.I. with less compression,10.78 to 1 on E 58. with bigger CNC ported 440-1 heads flowing another 20 CFM. It made 678 HP at 7000 RPM and 685 ft lbs at 5700 RPM. On pump gas the same day with a smaller 1050 Dominator it made 685 HP at 6800 RPM and less torque at a lower RPM than on E85 confused IHTHs
That was at 4300 ft in Klamath Falls, OR on a DTS engine dyno. It ran a best of 9.993 at 134.8 MPH at Woodburn, OR 1/4 mile on Oregon 91 octane pump swill with the smaller 1050 Dominator carb. through the complete three inch exhausts system on in my old Duster weighing 3450 lbs with me in it boogie
That motor and car exceeded my wildest expectations and hopes up

Don't worry about what it flashes to...has nothing to do w/ streetability. I've driven a 5k stall converter on the street for the last 10 years. As long as you get a good one, it'll be fine.

Pretty amazing low and mid lift numbers from those heads, wonder if you really need that much duration and therefore stall. you'll be side-stepping a whole lot of juicy roll on torque you could otherwise use for drivability with the 3.55 gears. I would think your motor would easily make over 700 and the E85 should help keep it cool at that high compression. Not sure if I would shoose that big Indy for street driving (I run a ported MP 337 on mine) so your torque curve may be a bit more "all or nothing" than I would build it, which would favor a higher stall.

I run a fairly tight 9 1/2" PTC in my 70 Charger with a 517 Low deck (~720 Hp) and a 264/268@.050 Bullet Hydraulic Roller. It flashes to about 44-4600 in high gear and seems perfectly suited to the motor. Drives great at any speed. I usually drive it like a glide and never really needing to use first gear. My heads are comparable through the middle and flow a little more up top 335@.500 and 361 @.600 but my cam is only ~.600 lift and the motor is ~11.7:1. My cam is on 108 and has an early 102 ICL. Couldn't be happier with the way it drives. I could easily grab another 50 or more HP using a solid roller similar to yours but (being an original R/T 4 speed Dana Car) I really don't have any desire to drag race it anymore but I do enjoy the heck out of driving it on the street.

Thanks for the input guys. Cab, I'm surprised yours didn't make more HP with heads that flow 370+. Anyways, I just guessed 750 HP @ 6700, 660 @ 5200. No clue how far off that is, but doesn't seem too far fetched from my search. I requested a 4800-4900 flash.

Your guess is pretty close to what I was thinking, FWIW.

Same here and now it flashes to 5400 w/more power and drives fine and never heats up................Continental 8" which is 15 years old...........

I misquoted the results on that 518 C.I. motor on that dyno, I had four different sets of heads on it blush realcrazy With the 440-1 heads it made 775 HP at 7000 RPM on Oregon 91 octane pump swill boogie It made 727 HP on the same dyno two weeks apart with the set of SR M.W. non ported heads that flowed 340 CFM on the same pump gas shruggy The last motor I dyno tested on that dyno was a 400 stroker 505 C.I. higher compression ratio bracket motor with a set of MCH CNC ported Eddy RPM heads that flowed 310 CFM at .700, that was the motor that I quoted the 687 HP on race gas, not pump gas blush and it made less HP 676 HP on E85 but more torque thumbs That motor is in my 2750 lb Cuda now and it has ran 9.03 at 147 MPH so far shruggy

I think that sounds about right?
My 500 stroker is just over 12:1 compression with a 268/272 @ 0.050" cam, 110 LSA installed at 108 (for now.)
I called Ultimate Converter and they made me a "tight" 9" converter that flashes to around 5,000 stall, but is so tight that for part throttle street driving it seems to slip less than my old 10-1/2" converter. Nice converter, but expensive (just over $1,000.)
