On the power steering box, the aluminum valve and line port, is that called the pressure control valve?

I dropped the power steering box when replacing it, and broke that aluminum valve and need another. Are these pretty generic, or vehicle specific?

yes, it's the control valve housing. the valve is inside. did you break the housing or just the nipple? there was a thread here a week or so ago and someone was looking for one. there were several sources but i can't remember off the top of my head.

here it is - https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/ubbt...tml#Post2049885

Is the nipple straight or does it angle upwards. I may have a good used one if it is the type that angles up.

Yes, the angled one. I broke the entire housing.
I think I can get one local, but if I have problems finding one I'll send you a PM.

FWIW, removing the K-member with the engine still in the car was not too difficult, except the K-member is not balanced, resulting in it getting droped, and the headers made it difficult to get the drivers side engine mount bolt out. Had to undo the lower mount to block bolt so the mount could swing out a bit to get the bolt out around the header.

Be very careful when you reinstall that valve.

If it isn't centered properly, when you fire it up the steering wheel can INSTANTLY go to full lock under full pressure from wherever it happens to be. If you happen to have a hand or an arm in the way it won't even slow down.

DAMHIK.

It is just the aluminum end that bolts to the (I think) spool valve? part. Not the part that had to be adjusted. I actually have -6AN fittings on the PS box because the Billet Specialties PS pump uses a remote fluid reservoir.

PM sent.

Now I just need to replace the stainless -6 AN fitting. It looks like it landed on the fitting, bending it before breaking the valve part.

Make sure that the shuttle inside the valve moves freely. I had one that I couldn't adjust to save my life. Turns out the valve was stuck. Once I got it free and lubricated, it was easy to adjust.

That is way too clean for my car smile

I am just installing a RockAuto rebuilt PS unit.
Using stock upper control arms with new ball joints,
Lower control arm has the Mancinni boxing plates welded on, new lower ball joints and steering knuckles for the disc brake conversion.
New tie rod ends, idler arm, steering arm.
QA1 aluminum adjustable strut rods. I found that the drivers side strut rod was bent after removing it?
Hotchkis greasable lower control arm pivot and urethane bushing.
I don't recall if the upper control arm bushings are rubber or urethane, they are not the offset bushings so we will see what we can get for an alignment.

Thanks for the quick shipping. Got it today.
Now I need to find the correct -6AN x 5/8" 18tpi fitting for it.
