I'm pretty sure it's supposed to have a glass back window so the top might be an aftermarket one and the wrong color.
pretty sure 68 was the first year for glass rear window .

Cool. Probably rare. The original color would be a lighter blue. The original rear window would be glass and be etched with a pentastar. The top color is listed on your broadcast sheet - top right corner under code 30. "2" is white. I don't know the code for Black or Blue. Even though the rear is plastic, it's still possible the top is original and only the window got replaced. If the top is original, check the vinyl "grain". I could only describe it as being a very very tight small diamond pattern. If the grain is "leather" it's very likely to be an aftermarket replacement. Keep us posted. Got your b.sheet? - Art

In addition, black (as well with white) goes with everything, so it's not unusual to see cars like this.

In 1966 you had a choice of white, black, or a blue tops material, grain was called "Pinpoint". They all came standard with plastic rear windows, a glass rear window became available through parts but not installed on the production line.
In 1967 you still had your choice of white, black, or blue top material, grain was the same "Pinpoint". Regardless of what the factory litterature posted above may state, early build 67 cars still came with a plastic rear window, glass was still available through parts, however sometime during the production year it was changed to glass as standard. To date I'm not aware of a solid changeover date.

My 67 R/T is a late 66 build, with a plastic backglass.. The new top will definetely be getting a glass backglass....
