Looking for some doweled SB MoPar rod bearings, and need a source. I had seen C&A bearings in the past but that seems to be a dead end now. I know that ordinary bearings can be drilled, but who has a fixture and would drill the holes for me? I hope to assemble a 3.79" stroke 340 based engine with 6.25" MoPar aluminum rods soon, and they have the dowels in them as usual with alloy rods. Thanks in advance! RB I might have the drilling fixture still around.. I used a old rod and drilled holes through it to do the bearings.. I will look tomorrow... IF I still have it you can have it

If mr PBody can't find his ill see if I still have mine.
If you are using aluminum rods and have an old junk one, it's easy to make one from it. I just make a drill sleeve if using an aluminum cap.
Pretty easy to make on with a steel cap too, you just have to lay it out.

Any luck finding an unwanted drill fixture? I guess I can try to make one, but I know the placement is critical as far as having the bearing parting line and tangs precisely located.. Just put a bearing in a rod cap and drill the cap.. make sure the cap is seated... I bolted both halves together first then unblolted it.. the bearing will stay there.. get a set of bearings so you know the hole size... and bolt each one together before drilling and I'm talking both bearings before drilling the one hole.. and make sure you have the right bearing (if it has a taper for the crank side)

Dammit I forgot to look. Grab and hang. I'm going to walk out right now and see if I still have mine. If I do, you can PM me and I'll send it to you. Hold on.
