The original hood bezels on a 68 RT hood are slightly pitted. They are plated and look like a satin finish not shiny chrome. What is the right finish on these bezels?

Satin is right, not bride chrome.

They're a pot metal, so expensive to restore the "right" way. Mine aren't in the best shape either. However they reproduce these now and you can get them for ~$300 if you wanted. I'm waiting to see them in person, but I haven't heard anything bad about them.

Correct, they should be satin.

We have had nothing but positive comments about the reproduction we sell. They are perfect in every way and have all of the correct stamping and markings. Like mentioned, restoring a set of originals is very expensive.

Thanks for the replies. Yes the re-plating restoration on these not worth it, like restoring the spokes on a rim blow wheel. Will try to repaint with the left over Killer Chrome I have, and then probably end up buying new ones.

Thanks, Mike
