I've been concerned with the big block not using a cam thrust plate, last one I had seemed to wear the gears on the oil pump drive too quickly, and im not sure I want to use a jesel or similar belt drive at this point.

Is there anything available, a custom timing cover perhaps to use with a cam button to keep the camshaft from moving forwards, which will work with the typical 3 bolt double roller timing chain?

There are several different brands of cast aluminum covers avaible, AR Engr, Mancini, 440 Source and possibly several others scope Some of thme require a 1/4 inch thick water pump spacer to clear the stock type water pumps, some of them don't confused

Sure, I've been selling a billet cover with a matching button for years.

Andy is a sponsor here. I also think Mancini handles his products as well.

All his stuff is on his website. He however doesn't sell direct. Has a few vendors listed on his site Rick on eBay is great to deal with.

Mancini has some stuff, Hughes seems to me to have more.

AndyF makes great stuff, I have quite a few pieces.

Mancini carries my stuff as does Hughes Engines. On the West Coast you can also call Mazzolini Racing although he doesn't stock as much inventory as the other guys. I also sell a ton of stuff to Firm Feel, DoctorDiff, RMS, etc. but those folks tend to focus on suspension stuff not engine parts.

This is the roller thrust button Mancini sells. The only issue I had with it was the heads of the bolts were touching the thrust button. I chucked the bolts in my drill press and removed .006 from the bolt heads with 220 grit.. Stock timing cover, no issues, over 1000 miles👍
