There is only one lifter and one lobe (#6 cylinder) with any damage, lifter is concaved and lobe has obvious damage. Every other lobe in lifter look great. Only a slight bend to that pushrod. All other pushrods look good as do all of the rocker arms.

Any ideas why it would only wipe the one lobe and lifter?

Is it at all worth keeping to get repaired and reground?

Maybe the lifter was not rotating in it's bore, all the wiped cams I've ever seen only had 1 lifter/lobe gone. You said the push rod was bent? could be an issue some where else in the valve train some bind or clearance issue. check it out good before a new cam is installed and run.

In the third pic, something doesn't look right on the journal. Like a side scuff across the oil feed hole. Maybe some kind of oiling issue?

I install the lifters in the block, mark a line on them with a felt tip and turn the motor over. If one or more don't rotate, I swap positions until they all do.

Good tip Leigh I'll do that. If there are oiling issues they have never appeared in the 7 years I drove it. I don't believe the pushrod was rubbing head. Valve springs valves, guides and such were all new when engine was assembled. Pushrods were reused stockers so they will be upgraded this time. To the scrap pile it goes. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Could of been a problem with the valve seizing up or the lifter not rotating, then creating to much lash and then Slamming the pushrod on impact, bending it.

Probably lifter not rotating well enough caused it though. work

So that's with no pushrods or spring pressure at all?

Turn over - at cranking speed, or just by hand with a ratchet on the damper bolt?

thanks.

Just sitting on the cam with light oil, no spring pressure. Turned with ratchet. I got the tip from Jericogtx. I'm not that smart, just ask Jeff!
