I can't tell you about any of my older stuff.
But my 2010 Ram has oil temp in the digital display on the dash. Typically oil temp hangs right around coolant temp, 190-205. If i'm running it hard, climbing a hill while pulling oil temp can climb to 240. That's the hottest I've ever seen it and within operating range of most conventional oils. Synthetics can be go 300+ without worry.
215 doesn't scare me. I'd just keep an eye on the oil and if it starts to get ugly change it.

215 is fine, actually on the cool side of things. MOst modern cars run much hotter oil temps than that upwards of 250+. FWIW our 68 Camaro has a partial fill in the block and we see 240+ after driving it on the highway. Installed an oil cooler and got those temps down to 200+-. Had that fail and have not had one on it for years and been driving it at 240+ with no issues. If you use a synthetic oil 250+ will not be an issue at all.

My experiences with piston engine airplanes with a oil temp gauge and talking to oil company representative is that most non synthetic petrroleum based lubricants are good to 275 F before they start breaking down. Most standard brand ATF have a additive that starts to change colors from red to brown at 275 and is black by 325F My airplane had a oil cooler thermostst and it ran righ at 190F in straight and level flying summer and winyer, it would get up to 230 F in the summer taking off from Phoenix aggresively (2000 Ft per mintue ) to climb out of the heat. I had a oil temp, tranny temp and water temp on my old Duster, non filled block making north of 650 HP with a roller cam oiling the valve springs full time would see about the same oil temps as the water temps. I did take the oil temp readings at the back of the block where the oil pressure is taken from so maybe that had something to do with that reading As long as your below 275F oil temps. your fine Most synthetics lubricants will run up to 500+ F before starting to fail according to Mobil Oil techs. Beautiful car man! My oil temps are around 120°, but I have a 8 at. pan, #12 an oil lines, Indy oil cooler & dual oil pick up, internal & external, my 2012 charger runs at 196° to 203° just below coolant temp in that 1

Yes be happy with 215 oil and 170 water, I call it perfect. I had to go a oil cooler to get there with my half filled 528 and 547 BB's, running 20/50 mineral, was seeing 250+ now 200-220 and 185 water. Are you on Synthetic or mineral ?
Yes nice car mate !!
