I picked up an Auburn locker for my 8.25 rear on Saturday. Came with a 3.55. Paid 17.25 for it. Also picked up a set of factory buckets for the Dakota. I picked up a set of 3.73's out of a Jeep Liberty at work last week. Couldn't find any 4.10's so it's 3.73's for now.

Sometimes I do get lucky finding deals. Just wish I had money to buy when they came up more often.

me too. I would be a mopar king if I could buy all the parts I see with no $ in hand.

matter of fact, I need to go to the u-pull for another 14$ mini starter, this last starter was 14$ 5 yrs ago and now needs replaced.

I keep 2 old LA style starters on my shelf that are new rebuilds in the box. but I don't think I will ever go back to that big heavy starter other than for the sound I miss now days.

That is a limited slip diff, not a locker. Maybe you used the "locker" term as slang?
I bought one of those from a local self serve yard...It made grinding noises from the start! I'll be the Dakota mine came from was beat to death before it reached the yard.
Hopefully you'll have better luck.

I have had some of that also. what looks good is not always good. LOL!

most everything in my mopar life has been u-pull used and I get the last drop of life from it.

but some days you find a piece that gives a long service life for cheap.

just think? if it were not for cheap u-pull parts I could not have/build/drive the MOPAR junk I love daily!

Yes, I know it's a limited slip, it came from a low mileage truck. It's in good condition.

Sorry, I may not have came across as being polite. In this rare instance, I was trying to avoid being a jackass. Some people do use slang terms in reference to car parts. I just thought maybe that you did think it was a locking type diff.
Good luck and nice score!

but you said HEE HAWW I heard you. LOL!

dang if you do, dang if you don't.

I knew what you meant and I know he knew like I know what it was by looking at it.

most likely I could not have spelled it correctly even though you know what it is.

just don't call it a posi what ever you do.

Sweet! When did they start stamping the ratio verses the pinion/ring gear tooth count?

The ring and pinion is out of an 03 Jeep Liberty, all of the newer gear sets I've seen are all stamped with the ratios.
I installed the unit and gear last night. WOW. Such a big difference in performance. I'm going to order a new bearing kit and go ahead with the 4.10's I want. This little truck really goes. Someday it will get a hot 5.9 magnum.

I took it out and done a 2 wheel peel about 150ft long! I'm going to be reducing and moving some weight around soon. Rear bumper is going away, hitch is getting modified and moved between the rails and a rollpan is going on. Making plans for the battery to go to the right rear of the bed as well. Going to finish the a/c install before it gets too hot. I thought about doing without the a/c but I'll sacrifice some weight for the added comfort.

I pulled the cover off today, been making a little noise. I missed something when I put it together. It had .050 backlash! Had to readjust the carrier and put a new seal in the pinion. Now it's quiet as a mouse and no more leak! I'm surprised I didn't break the ring gear. All is great. I actually have to be careful driving it. It spins very easy, even when rolling.

I'd NEVER say posi. I can't stand the chebbys. I work for a guy that is ALL chebby, is part of AC delco board, has been a chebby dealer. And I'm almost done. All we do is ac delco, our parts, our training, our uniforms, it's soooo...... old. Shove it down our throat.

Computer seems to work great. It's runs much better than the stock one. You'd better be pointed straight if you decide to stomp on the right pedal! With the computer, 3.73's and the unit, along with the 3.5 inch exhaust it runs pretty good. Was getting on the interstate ramp tonight I pushed the right pedal too hard and went side ways in traffic. I had fun but I don't think the folks around me thought it was funny!
