Are these the early 92/93 ones with the ~2&5/16 outlets or the later ones with 1&7/8 outlets? big difference in performance and their value. I dont think with headers you would like the cost/addit'l parts needed/fitment headaches

The placebo effect. IIRC the 340 manifolds and the Mag manifolds were within a few hp of each other when tested back-to-back.
R. I remember that article. All of them, including the low po stuff, we're right about the same. Not worth the money IMO to buy one vessels the other when headers are so much better bang for the same buck

The problem I see is that the early (92/early 93) mag manis are ~2&5/16 outlets and are very nice pieces whereas the later ones are 1&7/8 which is the dia of one header pri tube on my last BB. yes they would fit (that is important!) and would be fine for a DD 318. the very best manifold combo is a 68-70 340 HP pass iron manifold and an early mag dr side manifold (what I have on the stock car).

R. IIRC the engine used was fairly mild and the exhaust may not really matter at that level.
They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.

Don't waste your time with the manifolds.
My 5.9 Duster went from 14.2 to 13.0 with a swap from manifolds to headers.

I've heard this several times about the outlets being much smaller on the later year magnums. Any idea why they did this? And can the later ones be opened up to the large size or is the casting totally different?

Mine are the early big outlet manifolds.....some say they fit others say they don't.....looks like I am gonna have to try them....to the fella that said just go with headers....I'd love to but like I said my wife is watching the budget super sharp as we have one son getting close to college and she is planning our 20th anniversary trip to the UK so little to no cash spent is my goal
