Have any of you racers bought and run any of the "Cat" brand Big block aluminum water pump housings? Afraid they are cheap China junk and may have issues? Any feedback appreciated.... Thanks!

Usually good quality products, I have a set of their 3d h beam rods in my 440, with arp bolts from them. When I hado everything balanced they were good only I think one or two rods needed a little grind to make them even. Hopeing to get a gear drive for my small block.

I bought a new one at a swap meet a few years ago. I always thought Cat was a rip-off ov Scat (their rods were anyways, when they first came out), thus cheaper quality, but the price was right so i hit it. I gotta say, though i haven't mounted or run it yet, this thing looks NICE. On looks/fit alone, its a nicer product than the Mopar one and whatever other brand i've seen (cant remember now). The thing looks like it would seal without gaskets. Mine was completely unmarked and in its original box, and i had to actually read the instruction paper that came with it, in the small print to find the (Cat) brand name.

There are a few on eBay in the $50 range. Can someone provide a link? Thanks.

Have a small block gear drive on the shelf for 5 years never could muster the strength to run it. Someone gave it to me. Always wondered about there quality.

Because that makes no sense.

Just curious, what's the weight difference between the iron & aluminum housing? I've always run the factory iron one.

CAT was the lowest of the Chinese imports a few years ago. However more than one member here has raced with their H-beam rods.

On to the water pump housing, it's a surprise that it is as nice as has been claimed above.
