Went metal detecting today and found an old radiator emblem off a vehicle I'd never heard of before. It's a Graham Brothers emblem from a 20's era truck. With a little research I found that the Graham Bros built truck chassises early in the century and used multiple different drive lines. In 1921, they entered into contract with the Dodge Bros using their drivelines exclusively in the trucks and all being sold thru Dodge dealerships. Then in 1929, Dodge Brothers bought out Graham Bros, the vehicles becoming Dodge Brothers trucks now and dropping the Graham Brothers emblems for Dodge Brothers.

Cool information that I never knew until today.

ford also used dodge brothers drivelines---ford devised a plan to drive dodge out of business so he could buy up a bankrupt dodge at pennys on the dollar---dodge prevailed by buying a company with a body line to go on their chassis--some of fords success was doing the same thing to other suppliers that they had brought onboard-----this story is abridged from a 10,000 word historical story...

That's pretty cool, surprised at the good condition. I too am a detectorist and 2 days ago I was swingin around an old junk pile and found several old license plates dating in the 40's and also an old Desoto dog dish style hubcap. Nice find. thumbs
