What color is the stud plate on a 1970 Plymouth Cuda. This is the plate that attaches to the four-speed assembly from the engine compartment side. Thanks for your help!

On my former 70 LA built Cuda, I found it was painted gloss black, and returned it to that when I restored it. I've seem them unpainted on cars built at other plants.

I've seen them both clear and black. Is yours an early build? Most early I've seen are black.

Thru all my research,I found that they were original light phosphate plated and bare metal.But had the phosphate "washed" off them? I had a NOS one years ago and it was phosphate plated.But once again,a difference between assy line and over the counter parts?

Late build (May) LA built car. Those were my two guesses, so I will go with black to match the booster!

Last question, does the curved side go towards the driver or passenger side? Manual isn't clear enough?
