I need to order a oil system for my car in the next week or two. I was looking to go at least a 7- 8 qt pan. Milodon part# 30931 which has a straight portion on the pan, and a hole for the external line/pickup. But doesn't say if it works in the Early B bodies. But, the pan #30930 says it will clear, with minor 3/4 notching, I only assume this one will work? Will a single line pickup be sufficient for a 572 hemi turning near 7K? It will probably only see 6800 or so. I plan to use a standard production style HV Melling oil pump, and just plumb the external line to the large oil pickup/suction oil galley on the front of the block? Has anyone ran just a single line system in this fashion before?
BTW car is a 65 Belvedere.

Oil pans.

I use a Moroso 8 qt pan on my 63 street car and it works great. Fit right in with no mods and has plenty of road clearence. Ron

depending on your HP build go with either the Jeff Johnson Billet Fabrications with static pick up with center link hole through pan or the Milodon Super Stock 8 quart pan, or the Charlies oil pan.
