KB 162 Pistons have had two different designs..

I have an older version in my 383, the new 162's are rated for 8cc now.

Like you would ever need valve pockets that deep(the new version) in any application where that was a suitable piston.

Just another example of someone not understanding what the market really needs.

That has pretty much been the business model of United machine regarding their Mopar pistons from day 1, in my opinion.

I've never taken apart an original 68/69 hp 383....... Did those motors actually have positive deck height pistons as delivered from the factory?

No, they were like .020 down

No , they are down .0025 -.003 at blueprint , positive .020 is the NHRA spec.

Factory piston CH of the 68-69 383 is 1.932

Well the one I took apart was no where near 0 deck, this was with '70 pistons. It was right around .020 down, maybe a little less, but it wasn't single digit or anywhere close. .020 down with a stock head gasket would be right around 9:1...

I think the 70 piston is shorter than the 68-69 piston.
