Exactly. So the water pump housing is not correct for those heads and the engine could not have run with what I see on it. Not only would the pulley's not line up but, as one can see, the head water passages are wide open to the world.

Correct, hence the open water ports at the front of the heads and the block off plates on the back of the heads. Without the correct water pump housing, I believe you would have to change the heads in order to use the block??

In researching information on this engine, I read the following......

"The water pump housing directs coolant straight from the radiator directly into the front of the heads. The heads have small sodium filled valves that can handle full throttle temperatures for long periods up long grades. The exhaust manifolds are unique to those heads."

The picture's shown above are just like our 66 413 truck engine. As stated the water pump is high on the engine. The orange pump in your picture is typical car/pickup style and would not have run that way. I would say the distributor was also "Added" to this deal. These engines usually have a much larger distributor and governor setup. The exhaust manifolds are the same as our truck (CT800) and are unique to these heads. I would add one more thing... As stated the cranks are very heavy duty and I believe the rear flange may hang out the rear farther than typical RB car type cranks.

These 413 engines will handle "full throttle loaded work" all day long. But they only run 2500-3000 RPM max.

On the subject of 413 motor home engines, can anyone decipher my pad? Mine reads:

G T 413 V 2 3 (the V might be an upside down A)
