I've also heard of guys using a large pipe cutter. HFT --> No. 3 Pipe Cutter

A lathe, but youll need a big one......and the proper supports/tooling.
Sure makes nice cuts though.
I used to care but....... things have changed

I use a horizontal band saw and then true up the ends in a lathe.

I use a pipe cutter to put a GOOD line in the tube then use my horizonal saw... the blade tracks nice and straight on the line.... no need to dress the end other than the burr

same thing I did! It might be a good idea to clean the housing around where the wheel rides to maintain an accurate cut, but -- thats the ticket for a square cut IMO
