Im in the market for an un bored 360 block for a build. I purchased a 72 block used but it had been sleeved and had other issues. I have come across an 88 roller lifter block(non magnum) and was wondering if it can be used with all the early stuff I have already purchased (camshaft, etc). The build will utilize w2 heads and solid flat tappet. I know the 88 block uses a roller lifter but still cylinder head/rocker shaft oiling. I just wasnt sure if there were any other differences related to the camshaft and lifter set up that may be an issue.

thanks
justin

Yeah you can use the 88 block without issue in place of the 72 block. Will still take early heads (oil through rocker shafts), and all other standard stuff.

Not sure what your overall goals are... but I still even run the factory hydraulic roller lifters in mine. Holds fine to 6500 RPM where I run it to.

With a 1/2 fill and girdle mine makes a touch over 800hp with the turbo on the '90 block and cast crank.

Wow, thats some good horsepower. My plans are to use for recreational road race track days with w2 and solid flat tappet. Ryan/shady did some wotk on the heads and spec'd the cam for me, now I just need to put a shrt block together.

thanks
