Drag race?? If so it is a big giant help to run titanium retainers--almost a must these days--they help springs live longer and they DO add RPM to any given combo as well as protect against loss of control and valve float--after that check the basics-- pressures required by cam and application--Retainer to guide top--coil bind on inner and outer spring set close--many say .050 but if you have .100 go ahead --no big After that you have two real choices--silicon or tool steel--silicon springs will loose some pressure but hardly ever break like almost never--tool steel springs do not loose any pressure but..once in a while one will break. After this you get to choose from Pacoloy / Nextec/ PSI's top stuff etc is the next step in super pure quality wire--this is the good stuff! After all that... you can dip deeper into your wallet for surface enhanced / coated/ peened/ etc This is for folks that can't sleep at night with worry or folks that run an engine in extreme situations like circle track, road race, and very high RPM drag Let us know what your application is and we can steer you in right direction with some part numbers

I have been running the motor, drag. It has manley nextex 221449 on it now but I have a few that the pressure is down so I need new springs. I noticed they have them polished but they are 300 more. Whats the open and closed pressure of your springs.. if they arent way up there.... dont bother

I would run Beehive springs before polished ones, the reduced weight of the retainers I think would be more beneficial for the cost. Tim

I just checked seat on a couple were at 280.some were 340. I'm going to order new springs and I saw they show polished. but the regular springs are 600 and polished around 900. that why I was asking are the polished worth it at all I was running 325# on seat.. Pac springs.. I've had them on that engine a good time.. I dont recall the number
