I'm prepping my brackets to send off to my powder coater and have a question. These are the original brackets for my early August '69 built SuperBee and there are some ugly cutting torch mods to the frame mounting holes. Could this be an assembly line mod? The bumper has been removed once, by me.

More than likely yes, if they fit and align as they should, I would feel comfortable in having them coated.

Lynch Road, #1190 off the line. Don't have the SPD.
Thanks

It's probably 802 or 803 - I'll check my car later this afternoon.

I checked my car and the holes are not modified.

Issues that affect alignment of parts show up when the first couple of weeks car's were being assembled.

Is the assigned VIN sequence 0A101190 or are "we" talking another sequence number?

Does the car have its fender tag & b'cast sheet?

I don't have a ton of (August '69) Lynch Rd. data but it appears:

pre-production "PILOT" cars were built before the model year's production started - for 1970 these cars received a FRIDAY 801-SPD (I'd bet UAW membership was NOT working 8/1/69 on Lynch Rd. in DETROIT)
production "DEALER ANNOUNCEMENT UNIT" were built during the first months' production - for 1970 these cars received a SATURDAY 802-SPD (again, I'd bet UAW membership was NOT working 8/2/69 on Lynch Rd. in DETROIT)

first day of normal "production" was Monday 8/4/69

Yes, 0A101190 is the number. Data tag and broadcast sheets are not in my possession but are being negotiated for. Long stupid story on that.
Thanks for the insight.

There's a set of brackets up on eBay. Very different than mine. The cutouts look different also. Small hole on my bracket was where I hung a cheapo radiator overflow bottle back in '86.

Nope. Zero front collision damage. Factory mods only.
