Im just getting back into Mopars after many years and got my brothers 383 Gran Coupe running.

One header is leaking badly at the head reminding me of my 440-6 back in the day.

Have header gaskets improved over the last 20 years at all?

"Back in the day" we used to use 2 gaskets per side.

I haven't had to resort to anything other than Mr Gaskets but Remflex is the brand that people are saying are truly better...

Nowadays, there's high temp silicone all the way up to copper, and stainless steel...

Ultra-Seal's work for me...

A thin skim of high-temp copper rtv on the gasket of your choice should take care of it.

Good, at least there are some better options out there now.

I never could understand why header and manifold gaskets were different.

Try cutting the flanges on each header in two places: between #1 and #3, between #5 and #7. Same thing on the passenger side, it allows the flanges to align more accurately to the head surface.

I've never had a leak doing this and using quality gaskets.

I have run a few different brands but have been using a set of Remflex gaskets for the last 8 years with no issues. The other brands I tried before them always seem to leak at some point.

I have yet to see a set of headers that Remflex gaskets cannot seal. They are amazing.
